1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Japify mobile application ("App", "we", "us", or "our"), you ("User", "you", or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Japify. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Description of Service

Japify is a spiritual name-jaap (chanting) counter application designed for mindful chanting and meditation. The App provides the following features:

• Jaap Counter: Tap-based counting system for spiritual chanting
• Mala Counter: Tracks malas (1 mala = 108 counts) completed per day and lifetime
• Daily Streak Tracking: Tracks consecutive days of chanting activity
• Daily Target System: Configurable daily chanting target (default: 108 counts)
• Coin Wallet System: Virtual coin economy for streak restoration and data reset
• Rewarded Ads: Earn virtual coins by watching advertisements (max 10 ads/day)
• Streak Restoration: Spend virtual coins (5 coins) to restore a broken streak
• Cloud Sync: Optional Google Sign-In to backup and sync data via Firebase
• Voice Recognition: Count chanting using voice commands
• Text-to-Speech: Pronounce mantra/name on each tap
• Vibration Feedback: Haptic feedback on each tap
• Volume Button Counting: Count using hardware volume buttons
• Achievements System: Unlock achievements based on milestones
• Streak Sharing: Generate and share streak achievement images
• Bilingual Support: Available in English and Hindi
• Theme Options: Light, Dark, and System Default themes
• Offline Functionality: Full offline support with local data storage

3. User Eligibility

• The App is available to users of all ages.
• Users under the age of 13 should use the App under parental supervision.
• You are responsible for ensuring compliance with any local laws applicable to you.

4. User Accounts and Authentication

4.1 Guest Mode

The App can be used without creating an account (Guest Mode). In Guest Mode, all data is stored locally on your device only. Uninstalling the App in Guest Mode will permanently delete all your data.

4.2 Google Sign-In

You may optionally sign in using your Google account to enable cloud sync. By signing in, you authorize us to access your Google profile information solely for authentication and display purposes. You may sign out at any time.

4.3 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account credentials. We are not liable for unauthorized access to your data resulting from compromised Google account credentials.

5. Virtual Coin Economy

5.1 Earning Coins

• New users receive 5 virtual coins upon first use.
• Additional coins can be earned by watching rewarded advertisements (1 coin per ad).
• A maximum of 10 advertisements can be watched per day.
• The daily ad limit resets at midnight (based on server-anchored time).

5.2 Spending Coins

• Streak Restoration: 5 coins to restore a broken streak.
• Data Reset: 5 coins to reset all counters, streak, and preferences.

6. Advertisements

6.1 Google AdMob

The App integrates Google AdMob for displaying rewarded advertisements. Rewarded ads are optional and shown only when you choose to watch them. Ad content is provided by Google and third-party advertisers.

6.2 Ad Rewards

Coin rewards are granted ONLY when you watch the full advertisement. Closing an ad prematurely will NOT grant a coin. We implement duplicate reward prevention and cooldown mechanisms.

6.3 Ad Availability

Ad availability depends on Google AdMob's ad network and your region. We do not guarantee that ads will always be available.

7. Data Storage and Sync

7.1 Local Storage

The App stores data locally on your device using Hive database and SharedPreferences.

7.2 Cloud Storage (Optional)

When signed in with Google, data is synced to Google Firebase Firestore. Firebase is used as the single source of truth for authenticated users. The App uses server-anchored time for daily reset logic and streak calculations.

7.3 Data Integrity

The App uses atomic increment operations for counter updates to ensure multi-device consistency. Pending increments are buffered locally and flushed to the server periodically.

8. Push Notifications

The App uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for push notifications. Notifications may include reminders for daily chanting practice. You can disable push notifications through your device settings at any time.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose of personal spiritual practice. You agree NOT to:

• Attempt to manipulate your device clock to gain unfair advantages.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the App.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App.
• Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities for personal gain.
• Misuse cloud sync features or attempt to access other users' data.
• Use the App in any manner that could damage or impair its functionality.
• Attempt to bypass daily ad limits, coin caps, or other safety mechanisms.

10. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, icons, UI elements, and content, is the intellectual property of Japify and its developers. Mantra and name suggestions are sourced from publicly available spiritual texts.

11. Third-Party Services

Use of these services is subject to their respective terms: Google Terms, Firebase Terms, AdMob Terms.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure; that data will never be lost; that ad rewards will always function correctly; or that the streak or coin systems will operate without interruption.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
• We shall not be liable for any loss of data, including chanting counts, streak records, or coin balances.
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (which is zero, as the App is free).
• We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements.

14. Data Reset and Account Deletion

14.1 Data Reset

You may reset all your data through the Profile screen at a cost of 5 virtual coins. Data reset is irreversible and cannot be undone. Coin balance is preserved (minus the 5-coin fee).

14.2 Account Deletion

You may request complete account deletion through the App. Account deletion will permanently remove all your data from Firebase servers. Local data will remain until the App is uninstalled.

15. Changes to the App

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any feature at any time, including the virtual coin economy, achievements system, streak mechanics, and ad integration.

16. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access for any user who violates these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections related to intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability survive termination.

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
